Born in the beautiful city of Qingdao China, where Tsingtao Beer is from, Cao is the Head Chef of Lotus Blue Dongtian Kitchen Bar. He studied Yunnan and Western Sichuan cooking when he was in school. He has worked in many well know Chinese Restaurants in New York, including Café China. His master skills in combining fresh herbs with traditional wok techniques and his innovative house made cooking sauces have won the appreciations form the Village Voice and WCBS-Channel 2. With limited resources, he has brought many signature Yunnan dishes onto the menu, including the Cross-Bridge Noodles and the Steam Pot Chicken, two of the most famous signature Yunnan dishes.
Also known as Angie, was born and raised in New York City. She recently graduated from Molloy College with a BS in Biology and Chemistry. As a student, Angie was a leader on campus and planned some of the biggest events at Molloy College. This made her realize that she is also very passionate about event planning and customer service. When introduced to Lotus Blue in December of 2012, she knew this was the perfect place to start. She is now the Manager of Lotus Blue Dongtian Kitchen Bar.
Jonathan Emanuel Angelucci
Born and raised in America, Jon is a professional dancer and dance teacher. He is one of the first staff members of Lotus Blue. As a bartender/server, he has helped to train and build the team. His excellent bartending skills have won many returning customers and his great knowledge about the menu has impressed lots of Asian customers. As he put it, “ I love Asian food”.
Michael is a professional actor hailing from New Jersey. He has lived in New York City for the past five years. During this time he has fine-crafted the Bartender trade throughout various venues. Michael is grateful to be a part of such an amazing team and to be able to continue his passion for both creation and interaction at Lotus Blue Dongtian Kitchen Bar, a place where he feels completely at home.
Karma Tashi Tsering
Karma is a Tibetan born and raised in India. He gained his hospitality experiences by helping out his family business and working at Golden Dragon, a Chinese restaurant in India for 2 years. Karma came to New York 2 years ago and chose to work for Lotus Blue as a runner/server. He likes working here because in his words, “we have a good team and a good working environment”.
Also known as Boss, moved from the “Angel City” (Bangkok, Thailand) to the “City of Dreams” (New York City) in 2011. He is studying marketing at BMCC in New York. Boss was a part of the opening staff at Lotus Blue. Energetic and welcoming, Boss’ great smile became one of our signatures.
Originally from Bangkok, Thailand, Nat came to New York to pursue her career as a fashion stylist after graduating in Communication Arts and Journalism. While studying at Fashion Institute of Technology, Nat styled a lot of photo shoots for fashion editorials and worked as a Designer Assistant to New York Fashion Week. Nat works at Lotus Blue as a part time bartender. She likes to go the beach and do boxing in her spare time.
Originally from Thailand, Jirawat always had a passion in food. He worked as a part-time bartender in the prestigious Four Season’s Hotel while studying at a university. After moving to America, he started in the restaurant industry as a busboy, to a runner and then moved up to a server position. He learned to appreciate the beauty of Yunnan cooking and Chinese customs. He enjoys working in the hospitality industry.
